 I did finally make that Winter tassel for my pillow-for-a-tassel trade.  I'm a sucker for that buffalo check ribbon.  I think that I need more.  Lots, lots more! We think it turned out quite festive!  Now to stop procrastinating February's tassel.

My friend recently started making these fun patched pillows.  I love her design style so when she offered up a trade, I accepted. This year, I played four Christmas concerts with my flute choir group, Flautissimo; one concert with the Davis Arts Council (which I played just ten measures but the concert was so amazing!) and one 3rd grade Christmas program.  Phew. This year, I really, really, reeeeallly wanted to love my Christmas tree.  My trees have always looked nice, but nothing special.  One year, I bought a bunch of brown ornaments.  Fail.  Do not use brown ornaments unless you have a white flocked tree to show them off.  Instead, use brightly colored ornaments like chartreuse and hot pink and turquoise!  That will ensure some happiness in there.

This litte guy loves preschool!  His teacher is wonderful and I hope that we can get a good start on kindergarten because of her.  Every preschool morning, he patiently awaits his ride.  He's always out the door the second he sees her driving down the road.  I love that he is so excited to go! Last night, we had our family Halloween party and it was the perfect trial run for Halloween night.  Now I know how long it takes to get into full gear.  Priceless time management for my little monsters that want to trick-or-treat for as long as possible.  I got few pictures of the little goblins in which they were way more co-operative they would have been Halloween night. A few weeks back, we needed a quick and easy meal for dinner.  Fortunately, my neighbor was making Navajo Tacos with Portuguese fry bread for the base.  Of course, we copied and made a dinner that was a hit with the kids.  This bread is quick and easy! I'm kind of diggin' this ladylike coat from Anthropologie. My mother had a red coat in a shape similar to this.   She's had it for years and last year, she ruined it sitting too close the fire.  Sad, sad day since it still looked amazing.  I wanted "Summer" letters for my shelf since I enjoyed my Spring letters so much.  I tried to figure it out for a class since there were so many requests for it but sometimes, things just don't work out like that.  So I simplified the process.  I bought some simple paper mache letters and got out my most favorite, vintagey flowered papers and made myself the letters exactly how I wanted them.

How fantastic is this?  I use my stairs to "organize" too.  I have a step for each one of my kids crap treasures that need to be put away.  Of course, it would never look like this in my house.  Nor would it fit in my house, but still, it's fantastic!

Nice thing about having your own blog is that it's still there when you want.  I've been busy, busy, busy!  Finished many projects including one of my new classes that I'm super excited about.  If you follow Ribbon Scissor's, you'll see that I announced it last Friday.  But now I have my dates!  My daughter and her team had their last dance competition of the season.  They did so well all season long!  They won many 1st places and 1st overall in both dances.  I, of course, am so proud of her!   I'm kicking myself for not bringing the camera in to video their lyrical dance.  It was spot on and I've never seen her or her team do that beautifully!  Just wanted to share their Jazz dance

It's no secret that I would love a fresh, crisp white kitchen with subway tiles, pretty countertops (dark or light) in a flat, honed finish and a worn wood floor.  (Found here and here.)  However, after seeing what my white appliances look like at the end of the day, it would be one hot mess in there all of the time! I saw this kitchen today and fell in love!  Such a pretty, warm cabinet color
