"Behold Him" Vintage Inspired Christmas Blocks Kits Available

**My original kits are all sold out now.  However, I am offering the lettering and the image as a kit.  This gives you the freedom to personalize your blocks to your decor.  Kits will include creamy white paper lettering, sepia toned image and the measurements to cut the blocks.  Lettering kits are $10 and are available for purchase now.  Paypal link located on the side of the blog.  Orders are currently running 3-5 business days before shipping.  Thank you!

Hello.
The beauty of your own blog is that it will always be there for you.  It doesn't care how long you have been gone.  It will let you post anything and anytime.  Isn't that nice?  Now readers, that's another story.  I know I can always count on my sister!  (Hello big sis!)

I've been getting quite a consistent flow of emails regarding the "Behold Him" kits that I offered last year.  Good news is that yes, I do have some kits available!  At this time, I am only offering the paper kit only option.  I do not have wood kits at this time.  I will, however, most likely have an option for a wood kit most likely in September.

Paper Kit Information:

Have the ability to cut your own wood? I contract my wood out so I'll be happy to pass along the savings to you. This kit will include pre-cut papers, letters and embellishments. The wood block dimensions will be included with your order. You will need craft paint, Mod Podge, sponge brushes, dry adhesive (Glue Dots and/or hot glue works great!) and brown distress ink to finish the kit. Kits roughly measure 17"W X 8.5"H.  Kits must be pre-payed and are $15 plus shipping and handling of $3. I will be happy to combine shipping charges to find the best rate for you when more then one kit is ordered.

*Please note that I have a limited number of kits on hand.  Once they are gone, I can not guarantee that the kit will be the same.  I am currently looking at redesigning the kit with new papers as these papers have been discontinued.  The letters and image would be the same or very similar.

**The pinecone embellishment is no longer available.  A jingle bell has been substituted.

***Ribbons are different and the ribbon ring is no longer available.  I have yet to be able to find a source to replenish my stash.  I have had clients who have found that a small d-ring from picture hanging hardware isle will work to give it a very similar look.  Ribbons are still included in your kit which you can either tie them together or separately then attach them to your block as you like.  Also, the gold pearl is not included in kit as it is not needed without the ring.

Please use the Paypal link located on the side bar to order.  Also, you can email me at megitys@gmail.com for an invoice for more then one kit and for any questions you might have.

Thank you!
Megan

Kitchen Conversions from Sweetwater

I was so excited to learn that I won this cute print from Sweetwater.

c/o Sweetwater

Isn't it fun?  I just got it in the mail today and now I'm playing with it.  It's a nice weight of canvas instead of just a print.  I need a frame.  Ornate, rustic, simple, thin gold frame?  So many fun choices for such a versatile piece.

This has been a nice little pick me up when I've been feeling so frustrated about my home.  I wish I wasn't such a visual person.  I want to see pretty!  I want to fresh!  I want, I want, I want!  I don't want to see cluttered and messy.  I don't want to see old and worn out. I don't want to see the five different shades of brown in my front room.  I'm thankful for nice little distractions like this.  What a blessing for sure.  Thank you, thank you, thank you Sweetwater!

Have a lovely weekend!

Five Months

Baby love is nearly five months old in these pictures.  It's amazing how fast she is growing up!!

A few highlights about baby love...

  • She prefers to suck her thumb but will still take a binky.
  • She is stingy with her giggles but Mama can work them out of her.
  • She still gives wet kisses to anyone.

  • She loves her siblings.  Biggest brother can always get her to smile and talk to him.
  • She looks so much like her blue-eyed bigger brother.
  • She acts surprised to see her Daddy.  Her look says "Hey!  I know you!  You are still here!".
  • She loves the activity center that she can stand up in.

  • She also loves sitting in her Bumbo watching us go about our day.
  • She is so content in our family.
  • She is constantly held by someone.  It will probably take her a long time to learn to walk!
  • She sleeps through the night and has for quite a while.
She is such a good baby.  So calm and content.  I'm sure the sassy will start soon, but for now, we just love her to bits!

Happy Easter!

I present to you, a smattering of Easter festivity pictures.

Sunday's best.  I couldn't resist matching  the girls dresses.

 .
The majority of the pictures taken have a lot of , uh, personality.

Super pumped over the Easter baskets.

Typical  behavior of this moppy headed kid.

He's cool and he knows it

She kept saying that her sunglasses are just like Mama's!

Baby love got some baby food that she is still not very interested in.

The special golden eggs hidden in their rooms.
It was a great day!  Church was fantastic and Jake gave a talk on the Atonement in Sacrament meeting.  He did well even though he wasn't feeling well.  We came home to a table filled with Easter goodies from our Easter bunny.  Everyone got new sunglasses and had a grand time finding all the hidden eggs.  Each child got a special golden egg filled with a little bit of money.  Money is always a hit with these three!  That evening, we spent it with grandparents and another Easter egg hunt.
I love Easter!  Church always feels especially spiritual and seeing everyone in their Easter best is great.  And of course, Easter candy is the BEST candy of the year!

It's scientific!

I found this article pretty awesome today!  A scientific explanation for my perpetually messy house.
Ever notice how when you do a project, something has to give?  For example, a few years ago, I painted my front room.  Seems like an easy enough task right?  Well, look what happened....

Let's play Where's Waldo.  Can you find the baby?

There he is!

My favorite quote of the article:
Go ahead: clean and scrub, sort and organize, produce spectacular order in one area of your home; just understand and accept the fact that there will certainly be order decreasing, every bit as spectacularly, somewhere else in your home — especially if you have children or pets, or maybe even a husband (bless his heart).

Any house project, craft project, anything really seems to destroy the house! It's so frustrating! But thanks to this article, maybe I can relax a little about it?  Probably not but the theory still made me laugh today.

Vintage Elf on the Shelf

Out of all of my grandparents, I only knew my Grandma Reta. I remember going to visit her at the farm house and loving to play in her daughters old room and look through the pretty dresses kept in the closet.  Or the photo albums that were in the old front porch converted to a sitting room.  She kept the best brownies with frosting in the freezer that we got if we were lucky.  That or Keebler cookies.  Yum, yum, yum!   Oh the things that a child remembers about her Gram.

She passed away when I was 12.  We got to choose a few things of hers to keep.  I picked out a Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus salt and pepper shaker and her elves on the shelf.  These things are precious to me and I love seeing them come out of the box at Christmas time.  I've always displayed the elves on a little Christmas tree but this year when one of the elf's came out of the box, my daughter was explaining to her little brother about how the elf is in a different place every day so he can watch what they do during the day.  Then the elf was placed carefully on the armoire.   I decided it wasn't too late to play the elf on the shelf game with them.

follow my instagrams

This guy is kind of mischievous.  He was found hanging from the ceiling this morning.  My kids had a good laugh about it.  I wonder what he'll do tomorrow?

What about you?  Do you have an mischievious elf hanging around your house?
