Matchy-matchy

I'm loving my newly finished hardwood floors. However, now my front room is too brown. For example, my dresser (which I had originally planned on painting but chickend out) now matches the floor exactly. I was thinking a glazed blue-gray or maybe something like glazed apple green. Or do I just gloss the old finish. What do you think? Any new ideas? Just for the fun of it, I'm putting a poll up for my two readers to take. Go vote and help me make the decision.

My pal Christine and I vote for the green. Unexpected and lots of punch.

i just painted a shelf totally teal and i love it! i think it would look awesome on your dresser but any fun color would be fabulous.

Wow, your floor looks AMAZING. So I say go for the apple green. I promise it's really not too hard. I just used spray paint on mine, it only took a few days, then I put some clear satin finish on it. Ok, I need to come over to see the floor in person, I love it!

me again, ok, maybe blue gray the more I think about it. Do you still have your rug with the blue's in it?

I voted for apple green. I'm loving this color, but I'd probably chicken out too. It looks great as is. I totally get what your saying though, as we've got this issue as well. You could put a throw rug down near it to break it up, if you don't want to paint it.

painted would look awesome. i second the vote for apple green. just take the plunge and paint, if you hate it then just sand it down again.

Did you ever end up painting this darling little dresser?

I'd do black or red. But that's because I love black or red. And they still say neutral to me. Neutral with a zing.

But I LOVE apple green, too. SO many choices.

The thing is, the bottom line is, I say paint it. Something. Or anything. Or a few things. It would be darling because the shape is darling.

I hope you post another picture! Might just get me to whip out a spray can myself. Two chairs sitting in the garage, all alone and boring. They need some apple green or red or black, too.

I love painting, and I love color! But that wood looks lovely. Polish it and put it in another room, or maybe paint a fun floor cloth to go under it, visually separating it from the matching floor. Just a thought.
